Hey all,
Since I have not seen much in the way of R6MN members having fork sliders installed, I decided to provide a how-to on the R&G fork slider install (on a 2005 YZF-R6). To see the pictures, you will need to be logged into

OK, first thing's first. Get the "Fork Protectors"
HERE. They cost £25.52 which equals roughly $48 USD. I ordered and received them within a week.
Here is what you get:
2 sliders
2 nyloc nuts
1 threaded spindle
2 washers
1 22mm spindle nut
1 aluminum spacer
Now to the nitty gritty: Provided you have the correct tools, it should take no more than 5 minutes.
Tools needed:
1 Torque wrench (set to 66 ft-lbs)
1 22mm Socket
2 13mm sockets (and two socket wrenches to go with them)
1 6mm Allen wrench
White Lithium soap-based grease
Start off by just loosening the axle pinch bolts on the nearside fork, and removing the OEM axle nut (22mm).
Apply a very small amount of White Lithium Soap-based grease on the flat underside of the 22mm spindle bolt that came with your sliders. Try not to get any on the threads.
Replace the OEM axle nut with the supplied 22mm spindle nut that you just greased. Torque this to 66 ft-lbs. and retighten the axle pinch bolts to 15 ft-lbs. Slide the threaded spindle through the hole, and push out the rubber bastard grommet that's sitting inside the axle on the offside.
This is a closer look at that piece of rubber chit:
Anyhow, assemble the nearside slider components like so: Threaded spindle, slider, washer, nyloc nut. Do not tighten, but push the spindle through the axle so it pops out the other side.
Slide the aluminum spacer onto the spindle sticking out of the offside.
Assemble the offside slider components onto the spindle: slider, washer, nyloc nut.
With the two 13mm sockets, proceed to tighten the two nyloc nuts. Do not overtighten, as the nyloc nuts should keep the sliders in place. R&G Racing does not provide a figure to tighten these nuts to, so I just tightened them to a point where I was not able to turn the sliders around the spindle.
Hope this helps, and remember to keep the shiny side up.
