Default 2006 17.5K Redline Issue Discussion

I know this may sound childish but just give it a shot.

Here’s the deal the 06 R6 was first claimed to rev. to 17.5k, but it will not do that unless you have a kit ECU ($900 extra). So for those of you who bought 06 R6s are prob. a little upset about it only going to 16k; maybe you feel like you're tricked; flase advertising.

I told Big D to call Yamaha and complain that he was under the impression that it reved to 17k, he just told me that they pretty much told him that he needed the kit ECU and to fuck off.

The mission, call Yamaha customer service and tell them that you just got your new 06 R6 and it does not do what it was claimed to do, and you want it fixed. If they ask for a VIN tell them you don’t have it cause it’s at your shop being prepped for race season, or you're at work and don't have just make up something. If you have an 06 R6 give them your VIN, maybe you can get a $900 kit ECU out of it. This only takes a little bit of your time, and can possible help several members by saving them money. Maybe with enough phone calls they might do something about it.

if I had a phone I would...I should use ip-relay.com. I bet they wouldn't like having to say "go ahead" after everything they say. Plus if they won't take my "call" then I could sue on behalf of the deaf community

well, emails seemed to work wonders, along with phonecalls from people that owned businesses, in the morning show where the guys were saying how they want motorcyclists to wreck.....emails will be just as effective if sent in mass quantities

I think the more unique the better, that way it doesn't seem so much like a joint effort, and just a general upset over the 06 R6 that might initiate a selective recall for those who want the 17k redline.
