Thumbs down THEIVES

So I come home from work yesterday at about 1630. Park it and let it cool down for about an hour before I go outside to place the cover on it. Start watching Monday Night Football. Wife comes home from the gym about an hour into the game. Wake up this morning at 0330 to go to work...walk outside with all my gear on and it was gone! My Baby girl raven 06R6 was gone. The bike cover, front disk lock ,and the bike, all gone. Call the police and the snot nosed rookie cop says "oh yeah weave had a string of motorcycle thefts in the area." Did you think about telling somebody or announcing it to the local area? Possibly my last post in the R6 MN. Might not go back to an R6. maybe just maybe I can talk the wife into letting me get the liter bike. Maybe can join the R1MN? well just venting outloud now im gonna drink a beer and pour one out for my lady!

Dude, I'm super sorry to hear that. Where in San Diego are you located? I'm in Point Loma and we've had a couple of thefts in the last few months out here too.

I hear ya man... I hate thieves. Someone made off with mine last year. I haven't picked a new one up but I am also going to get a liter bike. Again, thieves suck. However, they caught my thieve and he got the book thrown at him because he stole about 20 or so from the area.

First off ... im really sorry to hear that
its happening alot everywhere lately i guess.

Im not sure what kind of disk lock you had .... but
i use a Xena lock ... the XN15 or the new XX14 is actually the best.
They SCREECH if moved etc .... at 110 decibles

nothing is fool proof, but this definatly helps, i dont
think most would stick around to take something that
makes crazy noise.

a few people in my area are looking into them because there
have been alot of bikes stolen in the last few months.

here's the link for future reference :

Damn good-for-nothing thieves. I hear about so many motorcycles that are stolen. Just make sure you have full coverage.

dude that sucks im so sorry to hear that. I purchased a Gorilla Alarm, it detects motion, tilt, vibration and electrical surge with 7 sensitivity settings. It also has a two way pager so it lets you know when your alarm has been tripped up to a 1 1/2 miles. i have caught one group of people in the act of stealing my R6. i got to them as they were jumping into the truck they were in as they drove off my bat met there truck a few times...

Does anyone know what you are allowed to do within your legal rights if you catch someone in the act of attempting to steal your bike? Maybe some info on California law would be helpful.
