Hey guys, I am just curious, since the riding season is coming to an end, are there good deals on 08's right now. What have you paid OTD for yours?

they're all over the place for $7999. by the time i paid tax and got mine registered/titled it was around $8800. the economy sucks and there are a lot ton of new '08 sportbikes in inventory so you should definitely be out the door for under $9000.

It also depends heavily on what you get. I included everything with mine... a 3 year service plan, full riding gear (boots, jackets, pants, gloves, helmets, and tinted shields) for BOTH my wife and I, puig windscreen, complete frame slider kit, fender eliminator kit, and a gytr tank pad. Mine came out to $12,500 including taxes, crate fees, and everything else. But don't let this price scare you... for just the bike itself, I talked them down to $9000. It also depends on where you are... if they are hurting they will sell for a lot less. Where I'm at, they are not hurting at all.. in fact, the only 08 R6 left in a 200 mile radius was one black R6 and one yellow R6. Lastly, is you have some spare change, definitely go with the 3 year service plan... it cost $1800 but I talked them down to $900... it covers everything but tires... even oil changes. It really saves you money, IF YOU USE IT. Hope this helps, let me know if you kneed anything else.

Ouch! The 5 year extended service plan for my '08 was $640.
I paid ~$9500 OTD towards the beginning of the year. Don't get overly anxious, look around everywhere you can. If you have to, you can always buy it out of state and have it shipped.

I think the list price was 9699 then I got the 3 year extended service and the 3 year maintenance agreement. I think I ended up financing a total of 14,000

Wow, you got a really good deal on that service plan. I checked in both Georgia and Tennessee and the maximum service plan I could find was three years. I have three friends that work at motorcycle dealerships and they were telling me that it's all up to the dealership, not yamaha, to decide the service plan price. Some include different things with theirs (more or less), however, they are all banking on you not using it to its full potential because if you do (even a 3 yr service plan @ $1800), it truly costs the dealership money.
A lot of people buy bikes, park them in their garage and don't take them out but a couple times a year. These are the type of people they make a lot of money extra from. Anyway, sorry to carry on, just wanted to know how great of deal you really got.
Oh and riderr69, also factor in gap insurance, insurance, safety course, and drivers license charges. I'm not sure if it's like this everywhere, but here, they charged me the first two months payments on insurance right then and there. Gap insurance is good for if you are financing the bike, they cover what ever insurance doesn't in case something was to happen to your bike. The safety course is between $95 (advanced class - 1 day with your own bike) to $180 (beginner class - 3 days with their bikes). The insurance all depends on your age, driving record, experience, and type of coverage. The drivers license here was about $26.
