Default right side foot peg removal (not passenger)

hey guys, it's been a while but i have a question and i did a little searching and kept coming up with passenger peg stuff not the one on the rear set... Anyway My bike was backed into and knocked over and one of many things that happend was the right side foot peg broke in half (not a big deal i still ride it but i figure i might as well fix it) i was just wondering how to remove it I know i'm gonna kick myself since it's going to be easy i was looking at my 05 and 03 and they both have a "rivit" looking fastener on the axis of rotation about which the spring is coiled but on the left side there is a cotter pin holding it in so i don't know why the left and right are different nor do i know how to get the right one off... agian i feel like a dumb ass for not being able to figure it out but i appreciate any help. Thanks guys!

So how did you end up changing the right side footpeg? I want to change mine, too. Did you end up grounding off the rivet and installing a left side clevis and cotter pin afterwards?
