Default Synthetic Pros and Cons?

I am thinking about changing over to synthetic oil in a couple of weeks, just wondering what are the pros and cons on this decision? And by the way I do not race, just ride hard every now and then on the way to work about a 18 mile commute.

I use Motul semi synthetic, recommended by a friend who is in business with Yamaha. I'm using a recommended oil, because it is not only doing the usual duty but with my 03 R6, running to red line takes a special Yamaha recommended product and as the oil is also critical for clutch operations and wear resistance, double important Yamaha's opinion counts, IMO. I do not race, just like to red line in 1st and 2nd. I do not stunt, wheelie or pop clutch.

The only "con" in synthetic is price (costs more).
