Im getting insurance from progressive... If anyone has it they can shed some light on this

Anyways, I live in an area where the weather does not allow year round riding... When I purchase the insurance its for a whole year but can I cancel the policy and get the remainder or my money refunded or is there a way where I can purchase the policy only for half a year or something that I dont know about?

I have progressive out here in California so I ride year round. However, there was a time when my motorcycle was stolen so I didn't have anything to insure for about 3 months. Progressive actually refunded me the money for those 3 months when I renewed my policy, even after sending me a check for the stolen motorcycle!

You should be able to get your money refunded after half a year if you cancel your policy. You can also try to call progressive and see if they have a policy for only half a year as well.

why don't you just call your agent and see if they offer maybe a 6 month or 9 month policy?

Progressive's policies are for year around. I talked to the agent about it in depth. He stated that they do this so the costs can be spread out and that if you get a nice day in November/February and get out on your bike you are still covered.
