520 conversion
Hey guys, I'm in the market for a new drive and figured I'm gonna go with the 520 that everyone always raves about. If there is enough interest in one I'll try to get one going.

usually there's a problem because there are so may options and people seem to compare prices between a lower end kit and a higher end kit. It turns into a mess.
We have a configurator on our site and coupled with the free shipping special (through Sunday) we're running makes for a good deal.

just curious, since I'm a dummy about this but interested in getting it, should I just leave everything alone and order without adding anything to the cart? i have an 04 r6 that's stock.
I have no clue what it means when it's asking what kind of sprocket I want or what chain I want or rivet for ek?

^^ If you hit "show full description" it will give you some more information. The "detailed images" will show you the different sprockets. Most guys go with the Drive Systems Black sprocket. It's what I use on my 06 R6.
The "rivet for EK" is to add a rivet style (stronger + better) master link to the EK chains because they do not come with a rivet by default. The RK and DID chains do. The DID VM or the RK XW chain will probably server you well. The EK SRX with a Rivet is a great budget setup. The "choice" chain is the DID ERV3 which is a top of the line road race chain (slightly over kill for the R6).
Feel free to PM me or call during business hours if you have any more questions. I'll help you out.

steel
I currently have an ek chain with the vortex rear sprocket. I believe it's the 15/48 package. I'm also pretty sure the rear sprocket's aluminum. This set only lasted 8k miles. My original chain/sprockets lasted 17k. What do you recommend for the longest mileage? I'm also looking at picking up a motion pro rivet/breaker tool. I've heard some rivet links are different. One has an indent and one doesn't. Can you confirm if this is true since it looks I will need the indent style rivet as oposed to the mushroom (OEM) style. This will be my first time. Also do you sell the washer that needs to be replaced with the front sprocket. This is for a 02 r6. Looks like I'm not going to be able to take advantage of the free shipping this time.
thanks,
Brad

Can I assume the colors gold & natural are just a preference thing when picking out the rivets? Also is it easier or more convenient for the person putting on the chain if the rivets already attached instead of separate if I go with the EK chains or does it really not matter that much?
Oh also, upon reading the information on your site, they talk about a speedohealer....is that something i want to look into the future or not necessary?

8K is just about right for a aluminum sprocket. Make sure you clean/lube your chain very often..lubing about once every other fill up or so. Your original rear sprocket was most likely steel but weight about 6lbs version 1lb or so of an aluminum. The drive systems sprockets are great and are available in black. They are made and hard anodized the same way AFAM sprockest are and should last about 8-10K as well.
I'm not sure about the rivet links. Once installed they just look like any other link in the chain.
We do not sell the lock washer/nut but you can use it once or twice before you need to get a new one. If you've already done a front sprocket change then head down to your local dealership and pick one up.

The gold tends to hold up better in coastal locations as far as rust, etc. You want a rivet connecting, not a clip usually. The rivets are also separate or else you wouldn't be able to get the chain on the swingarm.
If having a speedometer that reads too fast bothers you, then get a speedohealer. Ie. if you're going 65 it will read about 75.

Is this buy done?
On the site it seems to be working, but the cupon isn't.
Are you guys not offering free shipping anymore?
