I think those are awesome bikes. I read about them all last year in European magazines. I think it would make a great bike for commuting to and from work. Of course it couldn't be my primary ride.

Damn the US version is fugly IMO but the european is sweet. This would be a great bike to start out on or race and have a lot of fun. That 650R in race trim is sweet looking though.

i did some reading on that bike.
its NOT as powerful as the SV650.
the suspension components are inferior
and is missing other standard options that the sv650 offers

HOWEVER it is a more comfy ride, tamer, and is much lower to the ground suiting the female population more.

and to boot its almost $1k less.

so in the market YES it is direct competition.
performance wise? it doesnt stand a chance against the SV650.
