Default Question on Gas leak - Italjet Scooter

So I wam looking to pick up a cheap scooter for me and my lady to cruise around into the city on...one where i won't worry about it getting backed into or where i put it...My r6 is my baby...it's not my cheap transportation :-)

So i found this great Italjet scooter - has a PIaggio engine. The bike is 2001 with low miles but has a gas leak. So i went tonight to look at the bike. Starts right up...the girl selling it points out the leak...It seems to be coming from a drain tube..kinda like the r6 has coming out of the engine. THe gas wasn't dripping out, it was squirting out (in a pulsed squirt, almost like a broken blook vessel squirts when the heart pumps). So i am not sure what this tube is for but my instincts said

1) gas coming from a hose
2) hose comes from engine
3) hose is probably a drain
4) gas is coming out, it could be a bad cylinder seal?

What do you guys think??? There is so little info on the bike it's hard to find any real answers.

Its a 125CC 4 stroke motor...

you'll need to trace it

even the hoses for the R6 are just vent and over flow, they dont connect to the motor at all
