R1's Q's (Older)

I have googled the R1 on google images and bikepics.com I have seen R1's with the double round lights and the Bar type light that I "thought" were 03 and up.

I am looking for a older R1 I know a 01 is what I want to buy. But i like the double round lights tail. So the question is Did the 02's have double round lights are the bar type light?

It seems its the 01 model I am after. I wonder now much those are going for? If you know of any problems that year had please let me know.

First Gen R1 (98-01) I think it got new taillights with the bodywork upgrade in 00-01


02-03 R1 (the bar type LED taillight)

Do you think the bike would look ulgy IF you took a 01 tail and somehow put it on a 03?

I don't think it would match the sharp angles of the 02-03 but I don't think it would look that bad.
