Default How hard is it to replace a clutch...(i think im having problems)

Hey guys, i know for sure im on the MN but i've been here for a couple years now and i know you guys can chime in on this...

I bought a zx-10, thats having some weird issues. It shifts VERY hard into neutral from first, and to first from neutral. I tried making some adjusts to the clutch cable settings but still nothing helps it. When it does shift, it makes that loud double kick noise and clunks in there. takes a few seconds to actually get it to shift. when i'm rolling down the road its a breeze to shift from 2nd to 3rd and so on, its even easy shifting from 2nt to 1st and back into neutral while im rolling. The only problems are when i first start the bike up and im sitting.

Another problem is, it's trying to roll forward when its in neutral. if i let the lever completely out, i have to stand firm because again it tries to roll forward, which makes this bike hella hard to back up. I'm gonna drain the oil tomorrow and check to see any shavings in the filter and/or oil itself but, would this be a clutch problem ? I'f so, how hard is it to go about replacing it myself? I'm pretty good at doing anything relating to bikes, because i rebuild them on my spare time, i've just never taken apart a clutch before. :scratch

i'm clueless on this 1....

any help is always appreciated

It sounds like you're pretty handy with bikes, so it wont be hard for you. A repair manual always helps.

I think it might be more of an adjustment problem that is not sorted out yet. It is possible of course for the clutch to not be disengaging properly causing the rolling and hard shifting problem. Kawi clutches are know for being weak, so it might be time for a new one depending on year and miles.
