Default Canada Invades Guyana

CANADA INVADES GUYANA !!!
Team Canada will take no prisoners at the
Caribbean International Race of Champions!

Toronto, Canada - It has definitely been a stellar year for Caribbean Motor Racing as teams from Jamaica , Trinidad & Tobago , Suriname and Guyana ventured out of their homelands to participate in some of the biggest racing events ever seen in the region. Motor racing is clearly becoming the greatest sport tourism product that the Caribbean has to offer.

In just a few short weeks from now the final showdown for 2007 will explode onto a location commonly referred to as the zenith of Caribbean motor racing. Since its inception shortly after WW2, the South Dakota Circuit in Guyana , South America boasts a proud heritage, celebrating over 55 years of the best motorcycle and auto racing ever seen in the region. This year's Caribbean International Race of Champions promises to be the greatest yet!

On November 4th 2007, teams from all over the Caribbean, the USA and Canada will deploy their best warriors to South Dakota to compete head to head in a battle to the finish. Some one hundred and twenty combatants are expected to take part in this history-making event in front of tens of thousands of the Caribbean 's most enthusiastic racing fans.

Representing Canada this year in the Superbike divisions will be Parts Canada Superbike Championship regular Craig Atkinson, as well as Orion Motorsports/Pirelli Tire distributor Kevin Graham, and GOLO Racing's Rahul Dua. Graham will also be racing a Mazda in several of the auto racing divisions, while Atkinson is also expected to make an appearance in the ultra-hyper shifter cart classes.

These three Superbike riders are no strangers to the daunting South Dakota Circuit!

This will be Craig "No Fear" Atkinson's fourth visit to the annual challenge, and this year he hopes to better his close 2nd place overall result from 2006. "It's the fourth time I have been blessed with an invitation to compete, but it's also the first time I can attend as 100% healthy! I'm hoping to see better results this year, but win or lose it's a chance of a life time to once again be a part of a proud and time-honoured tradition."

Orion Motorsports' Kevin Graham is the old veteran of the group. He first raced a motorcycle around South Dakota in 1993! Since then he estimates that he has won at least 40 races in Guyana , and he is currently the facility's overall lap record holder and the defending overall motorcycle champion after a flawless performance in 2006. "I always came to ride and do my best as I knew that is what's expected of me... Guyana has always shown me true hospitality and it is the place I consider my second home."

GOLO Racing's Rahul "Tandoori Terror" Dua is returning to Guyana for his second visit, after finishing 5th overall in 2006. "I'm honoured and thrilled to be returning to the battlefield. I've been training very hard for this event and I'm looking forward to playing the spoiler!"

On November 4th, 2007, LIVE audio and video of the Caribbean International Race of Champions will be available for the first time ever via the internet. Interested viewers can access this and much more information by visiting the official website at www.gmrscgy.com

MIMIC INDUSTRIES JOINS TEAM CANADA

Toronto, Canada -
In preparation for the up-coming Caribbean International Race of Champions, popular bodywork manufacturer and custom paint specialists Mimic Industries will be providing Team Canada with a bodywork kit, specially prepared to celebrate the many years of spirited competition and friendship between Caribbean and Canadian motorcycle racers.

Mimic Industries founder and owner James Collins will personally oversee the manufacturing of the bodywork, which will feature a "special tribute" paint job.

"We're extremely proud to have an opportunity to support motorcycle racing in the Caribbean", Collins explains. "As we are a Canadian company, it is our pleasure to support Team Canada this year, and we will continue our support in all of their future en devours to come".

The special bodywork will be installed onto the 2007 CBR600RR piloted by Craig Atkinson in the annual clash of titans taking place in the South American country of Guyana in November. "I'm very excited and I can't wait to see it!" says Atkinson. "I think it's an awesome idea and certainly a fitting tribute to the culture and the folks who, year after year, always welcome us with unequaled hospitality".

Mimic Industries and Paint Werx, an Ontario based company, is very quickly becoming a tour-de-force in the aftermarket bodywork industry. Their body kits and composite parts are now the premier choice of many top riders and teams in the Parts Canada Superbike Championship. Visit www.mimicindustries.com, email info@mimicindustries.com or call 613-336-8718 for more information.

Team Canada is proudly sponsored by: The Guyana Motor Racing & Sports Club, GT&T's Blue Power, Mimic Industries and Paint Werx, Skyline Mortgage, Sunburst Orange Juice, www.lemeridien-pegasus.com and Caribbean Airlines.

Being Jamaican with a Guyanese wife who's father is a legend in Guyana for road racing back in the 60's (ask about Johnny Terrill when you get there), this is close to home.

Best of luck!!
