Default Ontario rebuilt car/bike

It's looks like I will move to Belleville once I will finish my study next April. I will need to change my car because my old chevy cavalier already have 303 000 km.

I'm interested to rebuild a salvage car from US and register it in Ontario but I don't know what is the regulation there.

Also, I found the website but you know that it doesn't show all the variation within the law, that's why I ask this question. I want to be sure that's possible to buy a salvage car in US and rebuilt it and DRIVE it in Ontario and what is the inspection they do on the car.

In the same web page I found that you cannot do that for a bike. So if I want to buy a salvage bike to do some track days, they'll ask me to crush it?

http://www.mto.gov.on.ca/english/dan...tm#vehicle13aa

Thanks for the info

-Dave

Default Salvage

The way I read it is that the car must go through an inspection to be changed from salvage to rebuilt by a licensed shop. There is a list of shops in Belleville on the link at the bottom of that page, as for the bike it just says that it can't ever be driven on roads, track is not a road. The bike just needs to be registered in Ontario, never plated. Also call The Registar of Impoted Vehicles and check their website. I just finished with them about a trailer I brought back in Feb. 06. I had to get the top guy in ottawa to tell them to look outside their box to see I had stripped the trailer to build another and the one I brought would never be registered. They just want the $200 bucks. Hope that helps.

Just found out that a law just passed, and no Salvage titles from the US can be registered for the road in Canada...
