Angry Finally had my wreck :-(

Been riding for some 6+ years now, and this past sunday i finally had my first off.

I was leaving a stop sign and the street was full of a bunch of leaves, my back tire spun a bit, kicked out to the side, caught traction and wheelied. I closed the throttle quickly, but by then it was to late. When the bike came up on the wheelie it was already leaned over as if i were turning. Closing the throttle caused the bike to slam down which made me jerk back and twitching the throttle again, i instantly let go and the bike shot out from underneath me and landed on it's left side, it slid for a bit then flipped to the right side

I slid along the gutter for about 30 feet, apparently rolling twice.

Damage is as follows:
Fairing stay
Right clip-on broke
Most likely the triple is screwed as the front wheel is not aligned with the bars.
Swing arm scratched, due to slider breaking off
left clip-on and all controls on left side damaged
Headlight
Tank
and just about all the fairings, some not to bad, but all have some sort of mark.

The frame sliders did a decent job as the frame and engine made it out ok, except the stator cover which got mild rash.

One problem i forsee is the right hand frame slider got bent slightly and looks like it's going to be a pain to remove. Any suggestions?

I made it out with mild road rash on my left arm and some sore muscles.

I bet your forks are fucked up too at least just a little I.E. not perfect anymore and those can be $$$ dear god i know. But you still have the base bike so thats cool. As for the frame slider when its rdy take that to the shop they might have tools for the job. Thats what i would do anyways.

Yeah it does blow.... sorry to hear about your little mishap... and you're right, it could have been much worse!

I've gotten my bike all tore down, the frame sliders weren't a problem that i first thought they would be, the bolt that holds it in was bent, but luckly the threads were not damaged.

I'm taking my forks in tomorrow to have them looked at and verify they are straight. By first glance they appear to be ok.

Good to hear that you were able to walk away from it. Would have sucked if the peg would have dug into your ankle.

i had about the same damage, plus both front and rear rims and forks.
costly to repair. i had to fix it myself.

ebay became my best friend.

fingers crossed, the bike will be running by this saturday.

Sorry to hear about your crash.

How did you get rash on your arm? Should have been wearing gear.

As for fork/frame straightening, you're going to want to take the bike to a GMD Computrack to get it measured. A stealership doesn't have to tools to check that stuff, they just lie to you and take your money.
