Palomar Mountain fatality
For those of us who know and ride Palomar, one of the faster riders has died from injuries she recieved when she hit a truck that was making an illegal U-turn as she came around a blind turn this past sunday.
Most of us just knew her as Sally, she was really fast and generally friendly. Take it to the track, folks, this just proves that no matter how smooth you are, no matter how well you know the road, no matter how fast you can take that turn, there are things beyond your control when riding the streets. Sally did nothing wrong in terms of maneuvers, she just got caught in a bad situation and sadly it cost her life.
RIP, Sally, godspeed and warmest regards and support to her family

Damn that sucks. Two of my brother's friends were riding Sunday and one of them died after running through barbed wire and hittin a tree. I guess that they both passed a car; one guy slowed and the other guy clipped his back tire sending him one way and his bike the other. The guy who clipped his back tire tried to avoid hitting his friend or his bike and took it off road.
Be careful out there.

I dunno what kinda bike it was, it was a naked bike with a race tail. It was a recognizable bike, specially with her ponytail stickin' out from the back of her helmet. I'm sure there are more details on other SoCal forums. One of my friends rode up on the scene right after it happened, I've already called him a couple times to make sure he's ok. He's pretty shaken up, seeing a nasty crash really gets inside your head (been there, it's not fun )

No idea, R6MN is the only bike forum I'm on. I stopped participating in general rider forums when I stopped going on group rides. Why did I stop going on group rides? Becuz someone always crashed...sigh

OMG! RIP.... that's so sad!
It's so true... what you all have written... it can happen when YOU do nothing wrong!
A stupid woman in a volvo almost took me out the other day.... it was weird though - I saw it coming... and was ready... but it still shook me up.

RIP...
whats gonna happen to the driver of the truck? Sadly things like this will continue to happen unless the law smacks down on the illegal car maneuvers.
