I got Hit,,,,,,, OUCH......need advice
well well well,,,, i can finally somewhat type,,,, Friday night i was slammed by a Toyota Pruis in the college parking lot.......Basically i was going 5-10 mph going straight towards the exit, and the car was coming toward me, no big deal, well instead of going stright she turn into to me and nailed me head on,,,, flipped me over the car and next thing i new i was in a world of hurt.... to make a long story short, i was rushed to the hospital,,,, and basically my injuries were lots of muscle tissue damage, lacerations to arms and legs, and some road rash all over... i was very very very lucky.... the good thing is that, it was totally her fault and she will be paying for everything
My bike is messed up but not totaled (i dont think) Cosmetic damages on every piece of fairing, huge dent in the tank, broken headlight, snapped off my handle bar, levers are screwed up, forks have bad scratches(dont know about fork seals and alignment), windshield busted, fairing stay busted, instrument cluster somewhat broken,,,,,, and other stuff, but i haven't taken a really good look at it......... From these pictures could anyone possibly estimate the damage??? i dont know if they will total it out??
My other questions is,,,,i'm pretty screwed up physically, i am fortunate for not being worse off, but i wont be back to 100% for a long time............Have any of you that have been in accidents and it was not your fault received pain and suffering compensation??,,,, if so, approximately how much was it?,,,, i'm not gonna get a lawyer and file a civil suit, but i hope i get something for this huge inconvenience.

that sucks man. glad you are relatively OK.
I would talk to a lawyer and he can tell you about what you might expect to recover for pain and suffering. Lots of lawyers have free consultations.

I'd be surprised if the forks weren't bent. And if they are along with the other damage I'd say it's totaled

Hard to tell but its def. possible its totalled (my '01 had $7500 worth of damage and it was similar to yours butwith a really mangled front rim/forks, there should still be pics with my post) My accident happened over a year ago (July 4th), I have a lawyer and everything so I'm still waiting for everything to be settled (I had a finger put back as well as some other broken bones/torn ligaments/bone graft) fun stuff, plus dont forget lost wages. I'm hoping for a decent settlement but its prob at least a few months away so I'm not sure of an exact amount.

One of my buddies t-boned a car with his chick on back, the car had ran a red light and she wasn't supposed to be driving. They both had on gear so they didn't get hurt too badly but the chick did get a broken rib.
Anywho after quite a few months with the attorney (specializes in motorcycle accidents/cases). The bike was totaled so insurance paid for that and their gear, plus they each ended up with a little under 10k I think.

I'd guess the bike is totalled. If you want pain and suffering more than about $500, you NEED to get a lawyer involved now, and they need to start dealing with her insurance company.
I hope you heal quick, dude.

I'd say your bike is totaled even though we can't see all of it.
A lawyer would be a good idea.

Get a lawyer, a good one too. Since it's her fault, I wouldn't settle for anything less than $10,000 in my pocket. People gotta pay for their dumb mistakes.
I would give that bitch $10k and let me run her ass over, see if she likes it.
