for your first fall, it wasn't bad. (the first one must have been the day you got your bike cause i read in another thread of yours that you've been riding for 6 months) Anyway, I'm glad you weren't gunning it in first
BTW: I went down the same way with my GF but I caught water on the back wheel, not gravel. Really not much you can do except look farther in front of the bike so you can anticipate things like gravel, oil, water...

Kudos for you both wearing your gear. You definitely don't want to use the front brake in gravel. Usually what will happen when you do that is...well exactly what happened. Whenever it is impossible to avoid gravel, slow down as much as possible before, get the bike as upright as possible and if you have to use any brakes use the rear brake slightly. The important thing is having the bike as upright as possible.
BTW glad to hear this wasn't about chasing liter bikes in 1st..hah just givin you a hard time man.

If you are on a loose surface then do nothing. No brakes and no throtle. Just go straight.

sounds like a New York road. Doesn't matter, in upstate ny. Back road or main road. There's always something in the fucking road.

Yep gravel, dirt, anything slick and getting on the front brakes is a huge no-no. As mentioned you need to avoid it or just go through it straight. Even some rear brake is fine, just don't go mashing it.
One thing I've suggest is getting on a dirt bike and learning what it feels like to slide and use the rear brake in those types of situations.

First of all thanks for your concern guys, yup I'm not a squid! Im glad I wasnt gunning it in first too!!!! I know the best thing to do is aviod these surfaces, but what can I do if I come across this crap again!? Its the second time the exact same thing happens, first time I used the rear brakes and fell, 2nd time I used the front brake slowly and FELL! Bottom line what should I do, just roll in? The tricky part is that it was on a curve so I couldnt just roll in, I had to turn and use some brake or I'd go into a mailbox!
