Default bad way to start off the day

so i wake up today around 730 to go to work and it's pouring outside. my car has been in the shop for a week already so i've been ridin the r6 everywhere i need to go. the rain starts to die down a good bit so i decide to try to ride my bike to work. long story short... approaching a light the car in front me hits their brakes pretty hard so natural reaction i hit mine kinda hard to avoid rear ending them becuase i was about 8-10 feet away from them at this point and the rear wheel locked up and slid out from under me. good thing is only a little scuff on the upper fairing on the corner becuase i have two sets of frame sliders on that side and the fairing are on that side i had taken off to repaint so minor damage. then i get to work and my boss tells me it's gonna be slow all day so i can go home if i want. which pisses me off even worst becuase he knows my car is in the shop and i've been riding my bike to work and i probably could have just called and told him i didn't want to ride my bike in the rain and he probably would have told me to stay home. so i should have been a little smarter and called first instead of tryin to go into work but anyway just wanted to vent a little cause that shit pisses me off and it happened like 20 mins ago. i guess...
moral of the story is pay more attention when you're riding and inclimate weather/wet roads. allow a larger gap for following distance, and make sure you have adequate amount of space around you to brake or manuever to avoid a collision if something unexpected would occur.

sorry to hear man. good thing it was really minor. would have made your day alot worse if you had gotten hurt somehow.

Same thing almost happened to me last night. I was coming back home, but the rain started to get heavy and i exited off into the local lanes on 270 north. with all that construction and stuff a car ahead of me braked hard, and so did I. Felt a little wobble but was able to save it. Be careful out there.

Yeah, it was raining early this morning like a cow pissing on a flat rock...that's when I decided I wasn't going to ride in.

Glad you're OK. Where were you?
