Default It finally happened.....

After one year, I finally dropped my bike for the first time.

I was taking a girl out on a date. I got on, kicked up the kickstand. She jumped on the back before I was ready for her. The bike leaned over. I thought to myself, oh no, not good, maybe I can save it. The bike leaned over some more. I thought to myself, oh no, my leg is going to get pinned. I tried to safe it. But it was just too heavy, bike was already tilted too far. If anything, I was able to slowly drop it?!? So down me, the girl and the bike went. I got up, picked the bike up like it was no big deal, gave it another try and we were on our way.

Damage:
Girl - no damage
Bike - lil scratches on bar end and rotor cover
Me - Bent back middle finger nail ( I had gloves on and didn't discover it until way later when I took off my gloves)

Lesson Learned:
- Keep kick stand out
- Make sure she doesn't get on or off until I say so

oh man i had the same thing happen to me, except it was one of my heavy friends (about 260 lbs) that's burned a few too many thousand brain cells in his younger days. i was giving a couple kids a ride around a parking lot and while i was talking to some other kids over to my right, this idiot jumps on the back from my left side, where i obviously couldnt see him. the bike starts going down, and i somehow manage to keep it up (i dont know if he was really helping keep it up any since he was hopping on one foot trying not to fall or cause the bike to COMPLETELY go down). the right rearset dug into my leg right under my calf from when it tilted left and still have a bump 2.5 months later.

i sure as heck went off on the guy afterwards (along with the kids)

I make all my passengers wait for me to give them my hand before they are allowed to climb on my bike. I leave the stand down and give out my right hand.

i leave the kickstand down when a passenger gets on. i almost dropped my bike the same way you did mystic, but luckily i was able to save it. im surprised that happened to you since you're taller than me and i figured you can flat foot both sides.

oh well...happens to the best of us.
