Default Review: motorcyclebatteriesusa.com

This is a review of motorcyclebatteriesusa.com:

7-7-2006
My wife’s 2004 Honda 599 decided it wanted a new battery, so we look around the net and find one at “motorcyclebatteriesusa.com” for $41.75 with free shipping. It is a “Yacht” brand battery that in the picture is sealed and maintenance free. “The sealed AGM design assures no maintenance”

Even though it stated 7 days to receive, it took 10 days and came by way of UPS. Happy that we had received the battery we open the box up right away and find a “Himura” branded battery with separate acid packs. In no way is this, a sealed “gel” type of battery. And although it does say “Shipped with separate acid pack for your convenience” in their listing I assumed this did not apply to the battery in the picture. Besides either way we received the wrong brand as advertised.

My wife and I quickly go online back to their site and find that there is no phone number, just a fax number and an email page. My wife emails them telling them of the problem. I check the UPS box and see they did list a phone number so I decide to call, but I just get a Sprint Voicemail Box to leave a message which I do.

My wife receives an email back from them basically acting like they mailed the right battery. They do provide her with a RA number but do not make a mention of paying for their mistake in returning it to them. In the mean time we ordered the correct battery from apexbattery.com (which I have used before, and our cost after shipping is $52). My wife also checks shipping rates to return the wrong battery, but they are all to high ($10-$13) and I do not believe we should pay for their F’ed up mistake.

I had my wife email them again saying that they need to pay for the return as we did not receive a “Yatch” branded battery like in the picture for product information. So far we have not heard back and I do not expect to hear back from them. In the end I am just going to do a “chargeback” with mastercard.

Never order from this site: motorcyclebatteriesusa.com
As they take longer then told to receive and once you receive the goods it is the wrong brand, and then if you need to correct their error all you can do is email them….which as we know gets you no where and in the end your forced to do a chargeback.
