Default Dropped my bike at the Creek :banghead

Hey Guys, Had my first Crash on Saturday ( Hopefully the last ) at Circuit Breakers Ride Day at the Creek. I low-sided it at the hairpin [ Turn 2 ]. Unsure of what happend. She just went on me. Anyways Thank God for my oggy knobs. They did their job well.

However my question is guys. The damage was to the left side and included lower fairing, very minor scratches on upper fairing, engine cover and the gearshift lever is buggered ( 03 R6 ) Oh and a scratch on the rear swingarm. Could you guys give any thought on the best/most cost effective way to fix these things or should I just or new parts [ where applicable ] , fit them and be done with it ?.

I got out of it pretty well I did not feal a thing when I hit the deck. But it killed me to see my baby infront of me sliding across the track for about 15M and then into the dirt. Also when I looked up my brother was on top of me and almost ran me over. I suppose if you are going to crash may as well do it at the track.

Any help would be appreciated guys. Have to get my baby looking sharp again asap.

I have crashed my 03 R6 on phillip Island Twice. First time the back went on me, the second time I went too quick into a corner and chicked out, soon as the bike it the dirt it flung me off and broke a collar bone. Oh well.

What I did is just put a sticker over each of the scratchs on the panels, cut and polished the small ones out. Re sprayed the engin cover (Gathering you dopped it on the left because u didn't stuff your exhaust) I would respray the swing arm aswell. (Can of heat restistant enamel paint) Finally put a peace of wide black electrical tape over both sides of the the swing up where your boots would normally rub taking paint off anway way. I had this on before I dropped it anyway, saved my swing arm and the oggies did the rest.

I wouldn't bother fixing your bike to 100% It will be 2 expensive plus you could do it again. Plus people can't tell that my bike has been crashed anyway. Still looks good.

I agree. Going for a total repair is too costly. I lowsided at eastern creek a few months ago, the oggy nobs saved me from a lot of damamge but their were still some scratches on the fairings... Far too pricey to repair or replace. Fix the important things eg your shifter but cosmetically, cut & polish will take a fair bit of stuff out and the rest I'd leave. Give's you a bit of street cred!
