2004 R1

04 R1's were racing at QLD raceway on the weekend stock as a rock.

They filled the top 3 places all weekend, Bugden won all day and the bikes (for stock bikes) where fu*kin fast

Superstock results in the US were'

1 04 R1
2 04 R1
3 04 ZX10

first GSXR1000 was some 15 seconds back.........

Its not going to be that way in Aus, the first R1's only became available about a month ago and privateers only got theres last week.

I think the GSXR will win the first round at eastern creek just because the bike is the same as last years and all the others are new

When do the new R6 2004 models come out?

The dealer in town said they still wouldn't be out for a while here, but i can still put a deposit down on one.

They've been available for about 6 weeks now.

I'm waiting to get my hands on the new R1, but nobody knows when they will get stock.

They are very happy to take your deposit but they cant even tell me the price its going to be

The R1's will be available in late march or April sometime the price on the road should be between $19,000 to $20,000

Isn't it funny that the R1 in the US are selling for $10500

If you convert that then we should only be paying $13600 for the bike.

And the R6 is US $ 8500 Which = AU $ 11 k

You've gotta be kidding me over here in the UK the R1 we just bought was £9400 which is about $23000 Aus Dollars. :WTF Talk about taxing the bejesus out of ya. Such a beast though I'll leave it to my husband and keep with my 6 just couldn't keep the thing at 30mph for love nor licence. :evil

from what i've been told, Yamaha is waiting to see what price the new zx10 and Blade are going to be before they put a definite price on the 04 R1. It's the last of the bikes to be released to the public so they can afford to wait and see so they can make it a competetive price.

Then again, that could all be bs, but it's got the ring of truth to it.

As to release dates? who knows.......i do know that a hell of a lot of them have been pre sold, so it's going to take a while for unclaimed bikes to make it onto the shop floors.
