Default Good road riding jackets

Whats a good road riding jacket (leather) for protection from crashes and also that can be worn off the bike that looks good?

What jackets do you own?

How much do they cost?

Dude why do u ask such pointless questions? Cant u just go to a bike shop and look at and try on some gear to see what u like best..... (thats what the rest of us do)

If im correct u dont even have a bike yet and Im sure u want an R6 but I would suggest getting a bike / insurance etc sorted out, then worry about the accessories later.

I recommend Alpinestars gear.

I jut got a TZ-1 2-piece suit for $1500 which I'm very happy with. SEE HERE

You could go the jacket for $800 (see below)

Hi i think you are right getting gear even if you donot have the bike yet. I am from the uk and was out there in sunny oz in march and was horrified at how many of you people ride with no gear.

It made me cringe that in three weeks and several hundered bikes later only a handful had gear on.

I thought it must be something to do with oz road that they donot give you road rash when you stack it lol.

Good thinking about the gear and to be honest you could do a lot worse than Alpinestars gear. I think the gear fits really well.

Cheers

Default jacket

Problem is with most jackets you end up looking like some biker tosser when your just in a club or a bar somewhere - I prefer a jacket that looks good on the bike but can wear anywhere else.
I have a Mars which is plain original (not Brando shite) black leather straight up zipper, zips on the cuff and pockets and a collar - i reckon it looks class. Not like some bright teeny bopper jacket telling the world "yeeah I ride, look at my shiney helmet and new pucks".
But wear what you want - just don't expect to impress anyone -

Thats the dunbest thread i have ever read on this board.

You wear leather to protect your self not to go on a fashion show round town. Most Jackets for real bikers have armour in them to protect the bits that break in the evernt of an accident.
I always wear fiull riding leathers when out riding for that reason and that reason only. It does not matter that they are blue white and black and have the name splashed all over them as long as when i come off at some 70-110kph i am going to slide and not have gravel rash every where.

People wear what they want its there chioce but i always go saftey first then fashion.
What sort of protection would your boring mars jacket give you in a spill????? Do you wear boots??? oh sorry of course not you do not want to look silly down the pub.
