I was travelling at around 25/30mph with the space of around 2 cars inbetween. The weather was sunny and dry.
The thing here is that I hit the bottom right hand corner of the bumper. So I think that the bike may have gone underneath me as I hit the brake. If the car was an extra foot away then more than likely I wouldn't have hit him.

Greg - Thanks for the R&G offer. I'll take you up on that if the insurance company are being idiots.
NOTE: As I was writing this, the insurance company called and informed me that one of their repair companies will be contacting me to pick up the bike and repair it!!
