Bad luck that I can't stand people who don't know what they are doing pull over if your not sure not cause an accident!
From an insurance point of view it might go against you as you hit the back of the car, Very hard to get out of that....sorry not trying to put the knife in, But it is i have a bit of experience from my earlier years. Good luck with sorting it out
