uhhhhh...the yamaha manual says to use kerosene to clean the chain so if yami says to do it then its OK. they also say to lube with reg 30W motor oil...if i remember that correctly. i personally use a chain specific lube but i have not noticed any difference in wear from when i used to use the 30W oil.
