i had no problem doing 2nd gear stand ups on my 600RR i had. 2nd gear, 45 mph, stand up, get adjusted to where i need to be, give a HINT of gas, slip clutch while keeping the revs up, lean back and the front end would come up no problem. i could also bounce them in 2nd at about 60-65 mph and do 2nd gear sit down clutch ups. just start off slow (yea that's been said a million times). find a good road that is straight, no traffic, and minimal to no debre on it it and practice practice practice. don't worry about looking like a spode when you first start. everyone looked like one when they first learned. i rode ama motocross for many a years so when i got my first bike i was used to bikes, wheelies, stoppies, "dumb" stuff but then again, a rocket and a dirt bike are two differnt breeds. just take it slow, learn, practice, don't worry about looking stupid when learning, and you'll be able to ride 2nd gear wheelies in now time...then learn brake control and you'll be able to to ride them til the engine blows haha.
